At Tarifica, as with most companies, the Covid-19 pandemic has shepherded in a phase of “business unusual,” with a new work from home setup and the need to support and adapt to clients the world over experiencing the same stressful conditions.
Our goal at Tarifica, even during these difficult times, is simple – to help our clients better compete through a better understanding of the competitive environment in their respective markets. Toward that end, I am delighted to report that in 2020 Arch – our industry leading SaaS platform – added Telstra, the largest operator in Australia, and Telecom Italia, the largest operator in Italy, to its growing list of users. Arch is quickly becoming the industry standard for plan and pricing intelligence with the largest operators in North America, APAC and EMEA all now deploying the Arch solution.
Importantly, we have also continued to build out Arch with significant new features, functionality, and visualizations. These include automated alerts, expanded promotional coverage, screenshot capture, and the automatic generation of preformatted, data rich PowerPoint decks (“AutoDeck”).
Our tech division also rolled out “PlanScout” – our new consumer tool for comparing and selecting mobile and fixed broadband plans. It offers a way for regulators to provide their countrymen with an easy, trusted, and unbiased way to navigate the complicated and often confusing telecom marketplace, saving consumers time and money through total market transparency. The Omani regulator – TRA – is our inaugural client. More regulators are actively considering making this “neutral” tool available to their citizens, as well.
Another big development at Tarifica this past year was the rebranding of our price consulting practice, which is now known as “PriceForce.” With clients ranging from North America to Europe to Africa, the PriceForce team is assisting a variety of companies to better price their products and services.
Tarifica has always been known and relied on for its sizable datasets, and we are delighted to have been able to support many prestigious organizations and companies with large scale data projects in 2020, including GSMA, Bitkom, The World Bank and Huawei, among others.
I am excited to also tell you about a partnership we entered into recently with Pricefx, a leading pricing software provider affiliated with SAP and Bain & Company. We will soon be marketing a joint solution that includes Tarifica’s data extraction software and techniques, along with other key components of the Arch system, and Pricefx’s pricing software. We are confident that this joint solution, which combines two industry leading products, will help our clients track their competitors and optimize their prices in ways not previously possible. More news will be forthcoming soon.
