Bangladeshi operator Robi has introduced Microsoft 365 software and Microsoft Exchange Online Email services bundled with its 4.5G internet data packs. Robi customers can now access Microsoft 365 software, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive storage and business email, with multiple security options. Microsoft 365 packages and Exchange emails are included with Robi’s 2 GB up to 8 GB data packs.
In order to promote the uptake of a high-speed data service, it makes sense for an operator to offer its subscribers some features with which to use that data, particularly in a developing economy such as Bangladesh. Microsoft 365 and Exchange are widely used yet fairly expensive products, so offering them free with 4.5G service is a major incentive to buy the service.
It would appear that Microsoft’s office products would be most desirable to small and medium-sized business clients or to consumers who operate a business based in the home. This type of offer would be most appropriate as a business package, and even though it is not specifically targeted that way, it is likely that it will find the most favor with business customers.
