Smart Glasses Set for Enterprise Adoption in 2015

Unit shipments of smart glasses are expected to growth nearly 150 percent in 2015, almost all of which will be in the enterprise and public sector, according to the market intelligence firm ABI Research. Over 90 percent of smart glasses will be sold in the enterprise or public sector in 2015, including for remote assistance, policy and military, security, warehouse and barcode scanning.

Smart glasses have up until now failed to make much of an impact in the consumer sector, unlike smart watches, the most dynamic part of the wearables market. However, it appears that this technology has a great deal of potential in the enterprise sector, and we believe that mobile operators would do well to look for opportunities to include these connected devices in the packages they design for their business customers.
